Terms

Terms of service.

These terms explain how StoryHQ may be used, what users are responsible for, and how subscriptions, workspaces, uploaded material, and AI-generated outputs work in the current product.

01

Agreement and scope

StoryHQ provides a web application for development intelligence: users upload authorized creative material, organize projects in workspaces, run AI-assisted analysis, generate reports and notes, compare drafts, use project Q chat, and collaborate through team workspaces where available.

By creating an account, starting a trial, accepting a workspace invitation, or using StoryHQ, you agree to use the service in accordance with these terms and any additional written agreement that applies to your workspace.

  • Individual workspaces are intended for a single user.
  • Room and Production workspaces support team members, roles, messaging, shared activity, and seat limits.
  • Studio arrangements are sales-led and may be governed by a separate written agreement.

02

Accounts and workspaces

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity that occurs through your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you should reset your password and contact StoryHQ promptly.

Workspace owners control the workspace subscription, billing, workspace name, member invitations, member roles, and deletion of the workspace. Team members may have access to projects, reports, messages, and materials according to the role granted by the workspace owner or administrator.

Users are responsible for keeping account email addresses current, completing required second-factor checks, and promptly removing collaborators who no longer need access to confidential material.

03

Subscriptions, trials, and billing

StoryHQ uses Stripe for subscription billing and billing management. No credit card is required to start the Individual trial. The 7-day Individual trial includes 3 analyses and 100 Q chat messages, and is available once per user. Draft comparison is a paid-tier feature and is not available during the trial. To continue using StoryHQ after the trial ends, the workspace owner selects a paid plan, at which point a payment card is collected. The Individual plan includes 7 analyses per monthly cycle.

Room includes 20 analyses per monthly cycle and 3 included seats. Production includes 40 analyses per monthly cycle and 5 included seats. Additional Room and Production seats may be purchased through Stripe where available.

Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancellation prevents renewal at the end of the current billing period. Plan upgrades take effect immediately and start a new monthly billing cycle on the upgrade date.

04

Uploaded material and rights

You retain ownership of scripts, outlines, books, articles, decks, notes, reports, messages, and other material you upload or create in StoryHQ. StoryHQ does not acquire ownership of your creative material.

You grant StoryHQ the limited permission needed to store, process, analyze, display, export, transmit, and otherwise operate the service for you and your workspace. This includes use by infrastructure and AI providers listed in the Subprocessors page.

You must only upload material that you have the right to store and analyze in StoryHQ. You are responsible for permissions, chain-of-title, confidentiality obligations, guild obligations, and any third-party rights attached to material you submit.

05

AI-generated outputs

StoryHQ outputs are decision-support materials. Reports, scores, notes, draft comparisons, project metadata, comparable-title suggestions, cast and HOD suggestions, and chat responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased, or unsuitable for a particular business decision.

Users should review AI-generated material before relying on it in development, production, financing, legal, acquisition, hiring, or rights decisions. StoryHQ is not a substitute for legal, business affairs, production, finance, or executive judgment.

Generated people, title, credit, market, and budget suggestions are research starting points. Users are responsible for confirming rights, availability, fees, credits, guild or union requirements, employment rules, and any third-party data before taking action.

06

Confidentiality and sharing

StoryHQ is built for private workspaces and confidential creative review. Users should treat uploaded material, generated reports, notes, comparisons, workspace messages, signed links, and exports as confidential unless the workspace owner has authorized broader sharing.

PDF material and exported files may be forensically watermarked when served through StoryHQ. Watermarking is a deterrent and traceability measure; it does not guarantee that material cannot be copied, photographed, or redistributed.

07

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse StoryHQ or attempt to interfere with its operation.

  • Do not upload material you are not authorized to process.
  • Do not use StoryHQ to infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, confidentiality, or other rights.
  • Do not attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, watermarking, seat limits, subscription limits, storage controls, rate limits, or other security controls.
  • Do not probe, scan, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt StoryHQ or its providers.
  • Do not use StoryHQ to create or transmit malware, unlawful content, spam, harassment, or abusive content.

08

Availability and changes

StoryHQ is an evolving SaaS product. Features, limits, pricing, supported formats, models, providers, and availability may change over time. We aim to communicate material changes clearly, especially where they affect billing, access, or data handling.

The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, security events, model-provider issues, network issues, or other operational causes.

09

No professional advice

StoryHQ does not provide legal, financial, tax, employment, guild, union, insurance, clearance, chain-of-title, or production-safety advice. Any output that touches those areas should be reviewed by qualified professionals before use.

10

Deletion and termination

Workspace owners can delete projects and related material through the app. Account and workspace deletion controls are available in Settings where supported. Some logs, backups, billing records, security records, and legal records may be retained for a limited period.

StoryHQ may suspend or terminate access where required for security, non-payment, unlawful use, abuse, or material breach of these terms.

11

Contact

Questions about these terms, privacy, security, copyright, or data processing can be sent through the contact page or by using the support controls in the app. Formal legal notices should identify the relevant workspace, account email, and the issue clearly enough for us to investigate.
